Low/No-Cost Resources
SEF's Learning Support Unit routinely develops a range of resources to facilitate the training and academic learning in partner schools. The technical team developed a series of low-cost/no-cost teaching/learning resources for use during teachers' training in each of the 5 target districts of the Early Learning Program. The resources comprised of different activity based teaching aids such as games and puppets, which are not costly and easy to make, and provide interesting and interactive learning for children. The resource kit was used by the trainers during the training and the participants were encouraged to develop similar resources on their own.
Moreover, to substantiate the fast-paced academic interventions in the 250 RBCS project schools, interactive wall posters were also developed which utilize pictorial illustrations to help explain the course contents. Keeping in view that RBCS teachers training is conducted concurrently in 10 districts of Sindh, 10 sets of these resources were developed and disseminated for training purposes. Similarly the trainers developed posters which were used during the training program for teachers from the PPRS project schools. The posters supplemented the objectives and methodologies to be used during the training and were based on the OUP books. These included topics such as fractions in Mathematics, gravity and earth in Science, prepositions and salutations in English and sentence making in Sindhi. The posters provide a more attractive and effective learning environment to enhance children's learning.
